Alexa’s well rounded event background brings versatility to Union3 Events. A graduate of The Bryn Mawr School ’96 and Washington University in St. Louis ‘00, Alexa holds a BFA in graphic design and advertising. Years of color theory, art history and design fundamentals have given her a finely trained eye and broad design palate.
Alexa's passion for event planning began in Boston where she volunteered with industry powerhouse Rafanelli Events, working events such as the Chanel Fashion Show and the Boston Public Library Annual Gala. Her career began at Harvard Business School where she worked as an event planner and program assistant in the Executive Education division. Alexa's career continued at Johns Hopkins where she garnered a broad skill set including event management, meeting planning, board coordination, annual fund and major gift work. At the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Alexa planned everything from elaborate galas and intimate luncheons, to fabulous sunset cocktail cruises around Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. She gained valuable experience in both domestic and international meeting planning, and had the privilege to work with government and embassy officials to plan events for visiting Royalty.
Alexa’s combined background in event planning and development makes her an ideal event producer for Union 3’s non-profit clientele. Her role as a major gifts officer at the Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine has equipped her with a keen insight in donor relations and the ability to speak the same language as her clients. She has an acute understanding of the importance of weaving “the message” throughout a fundraising or friend raising event. Her attention to detail, excellent communication, and customer service skills ensure that the client’s message translates clearly to their donors and remains the primary focus of the evening.
